I’ve been thinking about redoing the floors in my home, and I stumbled upon wood flooring in Edinburgh. They seem to have a lot of high-quality options, but I’m a bit lost when it comes to choosing between different types of wood. I want something that’s long-lasting, easy to maintain, and won’t easily scratch since I have pets. Would engineered wood be a better option over solid hardwood in this case? If anyone has experience with them or general advice, I’d love to hear it!

Great find! I actually bought my flooring from Hoff Parquet last year, and I can say they offer some of the best wood flooring in Edinburgh. Since you have pets, engineered wood might be the better option—it’s more resistant to moisture and temperature changes, which helps prevent warping over time. Plus, their engineered oak options come with durable finishes that can handle everyday wear and tear. Solid hardwood is beautiful but requires a bit more maintenance. I’d recommend checking out their showroom or contacting them for recommendations based on your space. They were super helpful when I was making my choice!
